LISTEN: Kanye West releases new song
Bill Cosby, Nike and Kim Kardashian all get mentions
The Chi-Town artist dropped his new trap music inspired tune on New Year's Day. The track, entitled 'Facts', features West taunting Nike about the sales he's been accruing with sportswear rival Adidas.
Amongst the Nike bashing, Yeezy rapped a line about the Chicago Bulls basketball legend Michael Jordan. Kanye said, "Yeezy just jumped over Jumpman." The suggestion being that the aspiring fashion designer, Mr. West, outsold one of the most popular American sports brands in the world, Michael Jordan - The Jumpman.
Marcus Jordan couldn't contain his amusement, tweeting that "I needed a good laugh to start my #2016."
"Yeezy just jumped over @Jumpman23 ??"????? LOL I needed a good laugh to start my #2016
