It does, in fact, honour December 26.
The season of festive songs (great, good and novelty) is well underway and this morning finds Blink 182 taking a typically sideways approach to the tradition.
The pop punk trio's 'Boxing Day' (or 'St. Stephen's Day' to you and me) is a hushed, folky number that continuesin the mature direction the band have followed since their self-titled album dispensed with the jokes about bodily fluids.
It's set to appear on new EP Dogs Eating Dogs, which drops December 18. Tom DeLonge says of the new EP: ""It sounds like a very progressive punk-rock band. It's prog-rock and punk all coming together and it's very modern and relevant. We're connected and laughing and making jokes and making fun of each other, and really having strong debates whether or not we should have a whole chorus about penises."
