Lionel Richie announces Dublin date
Oscar winning songwriter Lionel Richie, who won an Academy Award for 'Say You, Say Me' from the movie White Nights, has announced an Irish show at the O2 in March.
Having made his name first with The Commodores, Richie went solo and subsequently sold over 100 million albums in what has been an extraordinarily successful career.
From his 'Endless Love' duet with Diana Ross, through 'Hello' and 'Say You, Say Me' – all No.1 hits in the US – he has had a winning way with ballads. But he is also remembered for the stomping disco of 'All Night Long', which was a huge hit twice over, in 1982 and 1986. His 2006 album Coming Home was his biggest success in over a decade, reaching No.6 in the US charts.
Lionel Richie comes to the O2 on March 13. The concert is being promoted by Aiken Promotions and tickets cost from €59.80.
