Lead Balloon
Solid second album from Gary Lightbody endorsed songstress.
When her debut album The Drifter & The Gypsy was first released a few years ago, Israeli-born globe-trotting singer-songwriter Rosi Golan found herself joining the ranks of a burgeoning new breed of indie pop star having tracks featured on soppy American TV shows. Lead Balloon is her second effort and it’s full of tunes that tug at the heart strings like a puppy that’s been left out in the rain on Christmas Day. ‘Everything Is Brilliant’ (which features guest vocals from Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody) is a definite highlight and sounds like a world-beater thanks to the Bangor native’s understated back-ups, while fellow NI musician Iain Archer’s contributions on ‘Seeing Ghosts’, and ‘A Lot Of Things’ also help to make Rosi’s latest record swoon with the best of them. Listen up.
