Lake Street Dive announce Vicar St Show
The Bostonian band are set to play in Dublin on January 29 of next year with tickets at €39.
The American indie rock band Lake Street Dive will play live at Vicar Street early next year as part of their European Good Together album tour.
This will be the band's second gig in the Liberties venue Vicar Street and will occur a few months after the release of their latest album, Good Together which is set to be released on June 21 of this year.
The five-person band is known for its fusion of soul and pop, with elements of funk and jazz hinted at through the use of heavy background vocals.
Speaking of the album, the band said that an emphasis was put on upliftment, the new album is nicknamed a 'joy rebellion', as the band captioned on Instagram.
"There's a lot to be angry about in the world right now, a lot of pain and rage and divisiveness, but it isn't sustainable to constantly live in that anger—you need something else to keep you going," said drummer and back vocalist Mike Calabrese.
"Joy is a great way to sustain yourself, and we wanted to encourage everyone to stay aware of that. In a way, this album is our way of saying, 'Take your joy very seriously.'"
