The rumors started when Kehlani’s ex-boyfriend, PARTYNEXTDOOR, posted a picture on Instagram implying that they were back together. Since fans believed Kehlani was in a relationship with NBA star, Kyrie Irving, the internet viciously attacked her with accusations and threats.

After the attempt at her own life, Kehlani revealed that her and Kyrie Irving had broken up, a fact that she had not revealed publicly before this point. The eagerness to bully and threaten Kehlani is just an example of how quickly the internet can latch onto partially revealed information.

Although Kehlani is now receiving support from the majority of twitter users, the hate directed at her is still a fresh wound. A wound that won’t be allowed to heal unless celebrities like Chris Brown don’t try to insert their own irrelevant and offensive input.
