The Sultans of Ping to play one-off Kilkenny show early next year
Tickets are on sale now.
Legendary Cork band The Sultans of Ping are set to perform a one-off show at the Set Theatre, Kilkenny on February 7, 2026.
This will mark the alternative rock group's first show in the city since 1992.
The performance follows their 2024 Dublin show at Vicar Street and 2025 gig at the Night and Day festival, the band's only summer show this year, as a part of their 30th anniversary tour for their debut album Casual Sex In The Cineplex (released in 1993). The record featured classic tracks such as 'Veronica,' 'Stupid Kid' and 'U Talk Too Much'.
The Sultans of Ping were originally formed in 1988 by Niall O'Flaherty, Pat O'Connell, Paul Fennelly and Ger Lyons. They garnered attention in the Irish and UK music scene with their 1992 breakthrough single 'Where's Me Jumper?', a guitar driven indie-pop tune.
They then went on to release numerous albums such as Teenage Drug, which featured hits such as 'Michiko', and Good Year for Trouble.
The band, known for their riotous live shows, separated in 1997 only to reform in 2005 with a line-up change. In 2006, the band released their live DVD U Talk 2 Much: Live At The Cork Savoy Theatre on Cherry Red Records.
Tickets for their Kilkenny show are on sale now and can be found here.
