Katy Perry, Michael Bublé and Alanis Morissette among artists to perform at three World Cup opening ceremonies
The 2026 Fifa World Cup will have three separate opening ceremonies in the host nations: Canada Mexico and the United States
Katy Perry, Michael Bublé and Alanis Morissette are among the artists who will perform at three separate World Cup opening ceremonies in Mexico, Canada and the United States this summer.
Colombian reggaeton artist J Balvin and South African singer-songwriter Tyla will perform at Estadio Azteca in Mexico before the World Cup's opening fixture as Mexico take on South Africa on June 11
On June 12, Michael Bublé and Alannis Morisette will headline another opening ceremony as Canada face Bosnia and Herzegovina at BMO Field in Toronto.
Also on June 12, Katy Perry and rapper Future will perform before the USA host Paraguay at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
“This opening ceremony in Los Angeles represents the extraordinary scale of what the FIFA World Cup 2026 will become,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in a statement.
“The lineup of artists reflects the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrancy of its many diasporas, highlighting the nation’s rich influence on music, entertainment and pop culture, while showcasing the power of music to bring people together across the country.”
More artists are expected to be announced and ceremonies will take place 90 minutes before kick off.
This comes as we await more information on the final's half-time show. There is no news when it comes to performers, but the show will be curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
It is not yet confirmed how long the show will last, but it means halftime will be longer than the traditional 15 minutes.
The halftime show will be something akin to the Super Bowl's which lasts 12 minutes exactly.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino said that several artists will feature in what he called the "the largest show in the world".
The FIFA World Cup takes place across North America from June 11 to July 19.
