Kate Nash announces new album Cailín
Nash will play the Button Factory on February 13.
Kate Nash has announced the arrival of her sixth studio album Cailín on January 22, 2027. It is her first work to be inspired by Irish trad and folk music.
"The decision to make it came from realising that the tin whistle was my first instrument and traditional Irish music was my first experience of live music", the singer said.
"I’d never explored my heritage through my artistry before, and there was such a rich tapestry within it, the music, mythology, politics and my roots".
Nash is playing at the Button Factory on February 13. Her other Irish dates are Cork on February 8, Limerick on February 10, Galway on February 11 and Belfast on February 14.
Single 'Spilt Milk' is out now.
Nash became known for hit singles 'Foundation' (2007) and 'Do-Wah-Doo' (2010). Half Irish and half English, the singer-songwriter won a BRIT Award in 2008. Her genre has been termed indie punk.
"There was always a pride in being Irish", Nash told Hot Press in a recent interview in which she also discussed her recent singles 'Germ' and 'Famine'. The latter is a Sineád O'Connor cover.
Her 2025 single 'Germ', a response to a UK Supreme Court decision feared to endanger trans rights, went viral.
