June Madness
“Remember bands like The Saw Doctors, Whipping Boy and The Pale?” asks the blurb that accompanies ‘June Madness’, the latest single from C. O’Neill & Co.’s debut album Introducing. Only vaguely, as it happens, but these rough-around-the-edge Cavan blues rockers are charming enough not to have to rely on nostalgia. The blurb’s right about one thing, though. Thanks to lines like, ‘Got a map to find my head and found it up my arse’, ‘June Madness’ is quintessentially Irish.
