JP Harris and The Tough Choices set for Whelan’s
Country star headed for the capital next week
Purveyor of classic, authentic, American-as-apple-pie country, JP Harris - along with his band The Tough Choices - is pulling his honky-tonk train up for a Whelan's visit next week.
The Alabama-born, Nashville based artist has collected plaudits - and awards - aplenty throughout his career, which has seen him established as a standard bearer for old-style country music; far from the new-fangled rhinestones and pyrotechnics, this is country as it should be.
Last year's LP Home Is Where The Hurt Is - recorded with many of the musicians who've clocked up the miles playing with his backing band, The Tough Choices - was released to mass acclaim, and following show-stopping performances at SXSW earlier this spring, the Ubangi Stomp Club are bringing him to Wexford St for a gig not to be missed.
Tickets for the May 25 show at Whelans's are priced at €15, and available now from [link]wavtickets.ie[/link].
