Jeremy Clarkson’s New Motor Show Gives Hothouse Flowers Unexpected Hit
Hothouse Flowers are riding high in the iTunes charts with one of their old hit singles – and it’s all thanks to Jeremy Clarkson and Co’s new Amazon online streaming show, ‘The Grand Tour.’
The Irish band’s cover version of Johnny Nash’s ‘I can See Clearly Now’ was released 16 years ago, but it stormed back up to first spot on iTunes’s Top 40 UK Rock Song chart, after it was used in Clarkson’s new show.
Hothouse Flowers have just released a new album, entitled ‘Lets Do This Together’ which can be downloaded from iTunes. They will play the Pavilion Theatre in Dun Laoghaire on 2 December and in the St Luke’s venue in Cork on 29 December.
"Thanks to everyone for your support on our new album 'Let’s Do This Thing' and making 'I Can See Clearly Now' the number 1 on the iTunes charts," the band stated on their website.
Here’s the band performing ‘I Can See Clearly Now’ live in London last year:
