Jane Birkin sings the songs of Serge Gainsbourg
She'll be in Dublin in late January
The National Concert Hall is the place to be on January 27 as Jane Birkin sings the songs of her late partner Serge Gainsbourg. Tickets are €40 and go on sale on Friday November 9.
Part of the Swinging London scene, Birkin met Gainsbourg in 1968 on the set of French film Slogan, and a year-later recorded the legendary – and widely banned! – ‘Je T’Aime… Moi Non Plus’ with him.
As well as making periodic forays into the studio – her 2008 Enfants d’Hiver album comes highly recommended – Birkin involves herself in humanitarian work and whilst helping with the Japanese tsunami relief effort met the musicians she’s currently performing with.
