James Bay debuts at number one on Irish Albums Chart
Chaos And The Calm is in with a golden bullet.
A terrific first week display from James Bay, as his first album Chaos And The Calm (called a "listenable, hummable debut that bodes week for Bay's future development" by John Walshe in a recent issue of Hot Press) is the biggest selling record in the country. It means Bay, who also has the number one single with 'Hold Back The River', bumps Hozier's eponymous debut into second place on the Irish Albums Chart.
Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith each move down a place, while Mark Knopfer's Tracker rises from No. 8 to round off the Top 5. Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly, which hit the top of the charts in the US and UK, is also rising, up from No. 10 last week to No. 6.
The other highest new entry is If I Was by Watford sister trio The Staves, who debut at No. 14.
