It's all kicking off for Big Break winner Katie Laffan
The singer-songwriter appears on the cover of the forthcoming issue of Hot Press...
After battling her way to take the Big Break crown, 17-year old schoolgirl Katie Laffan from Walkinstown will join the likes of Primal Scream, Paloma Faith and Johnny Marr at this year's Isle of Man festival, which starts on July 6.
In the meantime, she'll be joining seasoned blues-rockers The Riptide Movement and others at the Big Break Live, which takes place in a secret Dublin location tomorrow.
Speaking to Hot Press, Katie looks ahead to what will be her first ever solo show.
"I'm one of those people that hides behind another person. I'd be in a band but I'd never sing. I'd play the drums. Still, no bother. If I have to do something, I do it. I'd probably be first up to do karaoke anyway!"
Make sure to pick up tomorrow's issue of Hot Press to read more of Katie's cover interview.
