Iron & Wine announce new album Hen's Teeth
Listen to ‘In Your Ocean’ bellow.
American singer-songwriter Sam Beam, aka Iron & Wine, has announced his new album Hen's Teeth, out February 27 via Sub Pop.
Beam has also released the lead single of the record, ‘In Your Ocean’.
Hen's Teeth has been described in a statement as a sibling album to the artist's Grammy-nominated LP Light Verse, which received a rating of 8/10 from Hot Press in 2024.
The upcoming project will be the singer's eighth album, the sixth under Sub Pop, and with American audio engineer Dave Way.
The LP features many artists with whom Beam has collaborated in the past, such as David Garza, Sebastian Steinberg, Tyler Chester, Griffin Goldsmith, Beth Goodfellow, Kyle Crane, and Paul Cartwright.
The singer has also worked with new artists, namely the trio I'm with Her, composed of Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O'Donovan, and Sara Watkins.
Beam's daughter, Arden Beam, is also said to contribute to the record with harmonies and back vocals on ‘Roses’, ‘Singing Saw’, ‘Defiance, Ohio’, and ‘Grace Notes’.
"To me it suggests the impossible," he explained. "Hen's teeth do not exist. And that's what this record felt like: a gift that should't be there but it is. An impossible thing but it's real."
Iron & Wine have also announced a tour across Australia, New Zealand, and America, starting in late February.
