Irish lyricist, composer and poet unite to ask what 'Ireland Is..'
Mark Cullen, Simon Quigley & Colm Keegan have collaborated on an EP which examines the current state of the nation
Lyricist Mark Cullen, composer Simon Quigley and poet Colm Keegan have united to form 'The Unruly Trinity', and are set to release EP Ireland Is on November 30.
The EP features contributions from each artist. First track 'Invincible', was penned by Mark and its music was arranged by Simon. 'Androids’ Lovesong' is an instrumental piece composed by Simon, and 'Ireland Is' is a poem written by All Ireland Poetry Slam 2010 winner Colm.
Its musical accompaniment was composed by Simon, and it rails against the contradictions the artists perceive to be happening in Ireland - "we're fumbling blind, we’ve no idea what we're doing, no idea where we’re going and we're almost there."
Ireland Is will be available as a download from iTunes on November 30, and the trio will celebrate its launch that night in The Odessa Club. Entry is free, but places are limited so make sure to pick up ticket beforehand from the venue.
