Ireland's first ever Bob Dylan Festival
Dylan fans wishing to pay homage to their idol might not consider Donegal their first port of call, but DylanFest 2007 is set to change that.
Ballyshannon's annual Rory Gallagher tribute festival isn't the only thing happening in Donegal this summer, as the town of Moville, Inishowen, is the chosen spot for the inaugural DylanFest, running from June 29 - July 1.
Festivities kick off on Friday 29, followed by a weekend of Dylan music and events. Irish tribute band, The Phantom Engineers, will headline the weekend with a two-hour show on Saturday night.
If you consider yourself a Bob expert you can test your knowledge with the Dylan Table Quiz. You can also attempt a slow dance at the Dylan disco, or just soak up the music. Indoor and outdoor events are planned, and the festival organizers hope to play host to bands from all over Europe.
DylanFest organiser Gerry McLaughlin expects a great turn-out for the festival, and maybe even a few famous faces: "Many of the top artists in the music industry today look up to Bob Dylan and are big fans so as news spreads there just might be a few celebrities strolling around Moville in the last weekend in June".
