My Best Friend's Wedding is getting a television sequel

It was just 18 years ago when we all witnessed Michael O'Neal (Dermot Mulroney) marry Kimmy Wallace (Cameron Diaz), when his best friend Julianne Potter (Julia Roberts) was still in love with him.

The remainder of her story will be explored in a pilot episode for a prospective new series, which will air on ABC.
The producers of the movie, Jerry and Janet Zucker, and the screenwriter Ron Bass will be working on the new project.
It is a mystery as to whether Julia Roberts, Dermot Mulroney and Cameron Diaz will star in the show again, but we can only hope the actors playing the parts will exhibit a similar humour to the original My Best Friend's Wedding.
