The Saturday Night Live comedian has faced a torrent of racist online abuse.
Following Ghostbusters opening weekend Leslie Jones, who plays Patty Tolan, one of the titular Ghostbusters, has revived a torrent of racist abuse online.
The reboot of the cult 80's movie has been swamped by controversy from online trolls since it's announcement due to it's female-dominated cast. There was even a concerted campaign to make the announcement trailer the most down voted video in youtube history. The campaign failed and that inglorious honour is still held by Justin Beiber's 'Baby'.
The sheer volume of racist harassment started early Monday and reached deluge levels quickly. Jones responded to the attacks on her Twitter.

She has also called for Twitter to put more guidelines in place in regards to abusive trolling.

Finally Jones was eventually defeated by the stream of vitriol and retreated from Twitter
