Hot Press' Tracks of the Year
We all know it's been a year of turmoil in many ways. Yet despite this (or, perhaps precisely because of this) the music scene was on fire. Which meant it was no easy feat compiling a top 50 Tracks of The Year - not to mention allocating those coveted spaces in the top 10. In a golden age of Irish music (across every genre), Hozier, Dermot Kennedy, Picture This, Villagers, Versatile and Hudson Taylor (to name just a few!) have claimed top spots while gems further afield from the likes of the Artic Monkeys, St Vincent and Sigrid have all carved out their rightful places.
But, for the year that was in it, no better song could represent 2018 better than Childish Gambino's "This is America", which has earned the prestigious number 1 spot.
