Hot Press Readers’ Poll results announced (free content)
The much-anticipated results of the HOTPRESS Readers’ Poll are announced in the new issue published Thursday, January 25.
It sees U2 hold on to their crown in the best Irish band category. The Edge also won the Best Irish Musician accolade. Damien Rice has become a main contender this year winning best male, album, polling act, live artist, songwriter and album cover.
Director scooped ‘Most Promising Act for 2007’ while their album ‘We Thrive on Big Cities’ scooped Best Debut. On the international front, The Killers' second album beat The Arcade Fire to the post for International Group, album and they won Best Single for "When They were Young'. Best female went to Amy Winehouse, while Josh Ritter snagged best International Songwriter, Live Act, Album Cover and Male.
