Hot Press meets the Strypes
With Elton John and Paul Weller already on board as superstar groupies, 2013 is already looking bright for the future rock-stars from County Cavan.
On the evening of their sold-out pre-Christmas Whelans show, The Strypes sat down in the unlikely location of Eddie Rockets with our very own Craig Fitzpatrick to discuss the aforementioned rock-star fans, major label contracts and incendiary live shows.
"We met three or four labels. We actually had more offers but we narrowed it down. Mercury is great internationally."
The lads were full of praise for Paul Weller, " He's really, really nice and very supportive of the band. He talked about us in Mojo and the NME."
Read the full interview in the new edition of Hot Press which is in shops now. In a jam-packed first edition of 2013 we also have interviews with Villagers Conor J. O'Brien, new Irish rugby captain Jamie Heaslip, US sister-trio Haim, The Lumineers, Seamus Coleman and Derry singing sensation SOAK. Order this issue here.
