Hot For 2021 Irish Acts: Niamh Regan
In a world of shuttered music venues and snatched-away opportunities, Ireland’s music community continues to defy the odds – with young, emerging artists defiantly rising above seemingly insurmountable challenges, and flying the flag for their country. This bold energy, independent ethos and genre-defying talent is evident across our list of Hot For 2021 Irish Acts – which features artists from every corner of Ireland.
Niamh Regan:
Renowned for her achingly personal lyrics, musical virtuosity and magnetic melodies, the Galwegian was previously a member of folk band Juhn Echo but struck out on her own in 2017. Citing Tom Waits and Paul Brady, the slow-build she’s gone for has started paying dividends with a Choice Music Prize nod and healthy amounts of RTÉ Radio 1 airplay.
Hear: ‘Save The Day’ from her debut album Hemet.
Watch: Her album launch performance of Hemet at the Black Gate.
