Heroes to return to television in September
New reboot will feature old and new characters
American network NBC has confirmed that science fiction series Heroes will return to screens stateside on September 24. Heroes Reborn will be a once off mini-series of thirteen episodes.
Heroes was a big hit among fans and critics when it debuted with its first season in 2006 but failed to carry on that quality.
But in age where everything is getting rebooted this is one franchise that it seems only fair is given another go. The second season was poor largely in part to the Hollywood writers’ strike of 2007 which saw writing stop after the eleventh episode of a 23 episode season. This meant a gripping slowburn storyline that was building was rushed into the last few episodes.
Some of the most popular characters from the first incarnation will return including Masi Oka as Hiro Nakamura. There’s no word yet as to where or when we’ll see the series on this side of the pond.
