Green Village Festival to rock Westmeath
The Stunning, Ryan Sheridan and Bipolar Empire top the bill at one-day festival.
The mythical parkland of Mount Druid is the place to be on Saturday September 24 for the Green Village Music & Arts Festival. A day of both contemporary and traditional music, the festival plays host to a top line-up that includes Monaghan man Ryan Sheridan and Bipolar Empire high up the card.
Also making some noise will be The Stunning, Vladimir Jablokov, The Riptide Movement, The Aftermath, Castletown Geoghegan Comhaltas Group plus many more acts to be announced.
If spoken word is your thing, well there's plenty of that too, as the Leviathan political debate on community features special guest speakers including David McWilliams, Hot Press' own Olaf Tyaransen and George Galloway. The Spoken Word Stage also features an eclectic mix of readings, comedians, poets, theatre, with The Hardy Bucks and Mary McEvoy set to take part.
Eco awareness is an important part of the festival with inspiration provided by the 200,000 broad leaf trees which surround the festival site. An eco village is also in place.
Tickets for this unique event are priced at €35 for a single adult, €25 for students, €20 for OAPs while a family ticket (two adults and two teens) costs €89. Children under 12 may enter for free while camping is also free.
