Grammys 2017: Who's performing and who's boycotting the Awards
With Drake, Justin Bieber and Kanye West reportedly planning on boycotting the 59th Grammy Awards, we bring you the full list of who'll be performing on the night.
According to reports from celebrity news website TMZ, Drake, Kanye West and Justin Bieber will not attend the Grammy Awards on February 12. Despite each artist receiving multiple nominations, they all reportedly agree that the Grammys do not fairly represent young or black artists. TMZ reports that Bieber and Drake don’t find the awards “relevant or representative, especially when it comes to young singers.”
West, Drake, and Bieber follow Frank Ocean’s lead in skipping the Grammys. Despite releasing both of his 2016 albums (Blonde and Endless) in time for eligibility, Frank chose not to submit them for consideration because he thinks “the infrastructure of the awarding system and the nomination system and screening system is dated.”
At the same time, the Grammy Awards have announced that A Tribe Called Quest will collaborate with Anderson .Paak and Dave Grohl at this year's ceremony, which will be broadcast from Los Angeles’ Staples Center.
Also announced today for this year's Grammys are collaborative performances from Daft Punk and the Weeknd, as well as Alicia Keys and Maren Morris. Previously announced performers also include Adele, Bruno Mars, Metallica, John Legend, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban. The show will be hosted by James Corden.
