Glen Hansard announces autumn Irish tour
The tour will include 9 dates across Ireland, including Sligo, Kilkenny, Galway and more.
Folk musician Glen Hansard has announced he will perform a tour around Ireland this October and November.
Don+t Settle - Transmissions East and West, Hansard’s 2026 solo albums, inspired his current tour as well as the upcoming Ireland tour. The twin albums came to life from Hansard’s night in The Hague in the summer of 2024. From that gig grew Transmissions East and West, a live-recorded, 22-song collection from the musician’s songbook.
A Dublin-raised musician, Hansard began his career busking on Grafton Street after leaving school at 13. In 1990, he formed the rock band The Frames, which went on to open for major acts like Bob Dylan (2007) and perform at venues like the Hollywood Bowl and Lollapalooza (2004).
In 2012, Hansard released his solo debut album, Rhythm and Repose, then began his world tour.
Last week, he performed a show in Dublin's Trinity College, featuring songs like The Frames’ ‘Revelate,’ a cover of The Pogues’ ‘I’m A Man You Don’t Meet Everyday’ and Hansard's Oscar-winning original ‘Falling Slowly.’
“It’s a powerful moment, 5000 people hollering about the loneliness of Irish life. It seems a fitting end for a performance that stood for peace, love and patriotism,” Hot Press wrote of the show.
His Ireland tour will directly follow his current European tour, for which he still has dates in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Germany.
Tickets For Glen Hansard's Irish tour go on sale July 10 at 10 am here.
