Gil Scott-Heron confirms himself for the Electric Picnic!

The Electric Picnic line-up isn’t being announced until March 24, but Gil Scott-Heron has jumped the gun by telling us on his website that he’s Stradbally-bound on Saturday September 4.
One of the founding fathers of rap, the American author, poet and musician was hugely influential throughout the ‘70s, but then rather dropped off the musical map.
That’s all changed though with the release last month of I’m New Here – his most successful ever album in Ireland and the UK.
