One of Britain's most exciting and original jazz bands will play five shows here this February.
Get The Blessing will kick-off their Irish tour in Dublin on Thursday, February 19 at Whelans, before taking in Belfast, Sligo and Carrick-on-Shannon and finishing with a show in Clifden on Sunday, February 24.
The tour is brought to us by Music Network (Arts Council funded) who's tours provide a wonderful opportunity to see some of the world's foremost musicians at affordable prices in venues around Ireland. The shows are presented in association with RTÉ Lyric FM.
Get The Blessing is made up of bassist Jim Barr and drummer Clive Deamer of Portishead fame, with saxophonist Jake McMurchie providing twin horns and electronics with Pete Judge on trumpet duties. Between them they've performed with everyone from Radiohead, Jeff Beck, Alison Moyet, Roni Size, Hawkwind, Robert Plant and Peter Gabiel.
In 2008 the group received the BBC Jazz Award for their debut album All Is Yes.
