Geldof + Bono deny involvement in Live Aid 2
Bob Geldof and Bono have dismissed reports that they are planning to stage Live Aid 2
Bob Geldof has issued a statement denying reports that he is organizing Live Aid 2. The reports, which emerged in UK tabloid newspapers earlier in this week, claimed that Geldof was in discussions with Bono about staging a 'clear Third World Debt' event next year. Both artists have denied any involvement.
Geldof was the original mastermind behind the 1985 Live Aid raised tens of millions of pounds towards the African famine. He had this to say yesterday about Live Aid 2:
"I told The Sun this afternoon that it was not true. This only serves to undermine the concerted efforts of those concerned with the tragedy of poverty in Africa. However, if the Prime Minister wants to organise a Live aid 2, then good luck to him."
