Gaza gets ready to rock!
The Dublin to Gaza show, scheduled to take place in Tripod tonight (Friday October 16) will be transmitted live in Gaza
Gaza has be under Israeli siege for many months now. In a live music first, there will also be an address from Gaza during the concert.
In another first, artwork for the event was produced in both Arabic and English.
"It was really great to get the poster and to realize that they had put up exactly the same poster as we'd done in English, in Arabic, all over Gaza," concert organiser Dearbhla Glynn told Hot Press. "I really feel that we are promoting two concerts now. There is going to be a huge turn-out in Gaza – in fact they are worrying now that too many people will be coming! It's amazing."
As already revealed on hotpress.com, the line-up for the Tripod show offers a very hip World Music feast that includes Kila, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Lumiere, Naisrin and Zahara El Safty, who will join hands with Palestinian hip-hop diva Shadia Mansour and political activist MC Lowkey, backed by the Dublin-based Discovery Gospel Choir.
Tickets for the concert are just €15.
