Galway pub raises funds for Palestine Children's Relief Fund with screening of KNEECAP's Glastonbury set
"Thank you KNEECAP for your fearless truth and bringing us together," The Blue Note team remarked. "We hope for a day when events like this will no longer be needed."
Galway pub The Blue Note held a special fundraiser in aid of the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF) yesterday, July 3, with a screening of KNEECAP's acclaimed Glastonbury set. €1,600 was raised on the door, which The Blue Note have promised to match.
"It is heartbreaking what is happening in Palestine," the pub wrote online, when announcing the event. "What can we do? Well, what we can do is illegally download and broadcast a set from a bunch of fearless legends. And raise money for children who are affected the most."
Playing the set on their big screen, The Blue Note charged €5 on the door, with all money raised going to the PCRF – which provides free medical care to thousands of injured and ill children yearly.
"There was never a doubt that The Blue community would show up like you did yesterday," the pub remarked today. "You are all legends.
"Thank you KNEECAP for your fearless truth and bringing us together," they added. "We hope for a day when events like this will no longer be needed."
