Funny Because It's True
Over the past year or two, the minty fresh blast of guitary poppy punk in the charts has induced delight among the jilted generation. Green Day, Offspring, Blink 182 et al have all knocked a few teeny bands out of the top ten.

Mixtwitch are a young, catchy, punky outfit hailing from Dublin. They specialise in that great brand of punk – somewhere between Eve 6, The Descendants, Green Day and Fraggle Rock.
The utterly infectious ‘Where Are All Our Groupies Gone’ superglued itself to my head for a few days, and the brilliantly cheesy dum-dum bassline on the ‘sing along’ bit was the nutella on the pancake.
Another cracker, ‘Ha Ha Your Ex-Boyfriend Joined The Circus’, is a rather humourous take on break-up and ‘bearded ladies’, with plenty of sped-up guitariness and a manic rhythm section.
With chunky, punky riffs, neurotic lyrics, off the wall basslines and masses upon masses of raucous energy, Mixtwitch rock rather superbly.
Funny Because It’s True sparks the semtex of fun as it explodes in your face.
Punkin’ great.
