Fun Protestants announce debut album alongside Belfast Imagine Festival gig
Find ticket information below.
Techno punk duo Fun Protestants have announced their debut album WKD INFUSED BLOOD, alongside its launch show for the Belfast Imagine Festival, set to take place at the Oh Yeah Music Centre on March 28.
WKD INFUSED BLOOD borrows from classic '90s trance, blended with industrial noise and punk elements. It features a total of ten tracks, including the already released 'God save my toaster' and 'Show me yer Bony'.
Fun Protestants, made up of Mish Thoburn and Cameron Clarke, say they sample "colloquial Northern Irish soundscape like the Orange marches, protests, Lambeg drums, the iconic 'NO SURRENDER WOMAN', and the rides at the Planet Fun".
Formed in early 2024, they hit the scene with sold out shows in Belfast's Accidental Theatre and the Black Box.
Elsewhere, they performed at Electric Picnic’s experimental stage Brutopolis both in 2024 and 2025. Their last year standout shows included Limerick’s Feile na Greine, Sligo’s Cairde Festival, and Dublin's underground rave gig under the M50 motorway.
Fun Protestants' 'God save my toaster' was included in Hot Press' March 13 'New Irish Songs To Hear This Week' article. Check it out here.
