Freya Ridings announces new album Mother Of Pearl

Freya Ridings has announced her new album Mother Of Pearl, out May 29.
Ahead of the upcoming album, she has also released her new single 'I Have Always Loved You', along with an accompanying video due to premiere at 5pm. The track was co-written with friend, and fellow songwriter Toby Gadd.
“My first album had a colour palette of red and black, for fire and pain," says Ridings. "The second album was orange and green - earthy and organic. But this new music evokes water, the big blue sea, with all the depth and ancient power of an ocean: it's grief and it's ancestry, the known and the unknown.
"There's a lot of rebellion and female rage that I wasn't able to express before. I'm rebuilding myself to who I actually know I am instead of what people tried to force me to be.”
The English singer-songwriter began teasing the album with recent singles such as 'Wild Horse' earlier this year, and 'Wicker Woman' in October. Her forthcoming album will come as her first since releasing Blood Orange in 2023.
