A French distributor has cancelled planes to release Made in France, a film about a jihadist terrorist attack in France, in light of the attacks in Paris that left at least 129 dead on Friday.
The movie, which was directed by Nicholas Boukhrief and set to open on Wednesday, follows a Muslim journalist who infiltrates a Jihadi group to uncover a terrorist plot against Paris.
The film’s release had already been postponed after the shootings in the Charlie Hebdo magazine offices in Paris in January.
"Following the tragic events of last night, the distributor Pretty Pictures and producer Radar Films have immediately decided to postpone the release of the film to a later date,” the filmmakers said in a statement. The film producers also said they would change their campaign. The controversial poster for the film features an AK-47 assault rifle superimposed on the Eiffel Tower and the tagline "the threat comes from inside." Paris transport authority RATP started removing the film’s poster from metro stations on Saturday.
