A bold feel-good anthem, the Irish-Egyptian artist makes body positivity the name of the game this summer with her magnetic new bop.
Irish-Egyptian artist Shaefri heralds a highly-anticipated return with the announcement of her new upcoming single, ‘Back In My Body’.
The artist’s first release since 2022's 'Warm Water' and a cover of Harry Styles' 'Watermelon Sugar' in 2023, the track will be released this Friday, 20th June.
Penned and produced by Shaefri, ‘Back In My Body’ signals a bold new direction for the artist, pulling back the curtains on the journey towards finding your way back to yourself after a spell of emotional, spiritual or physical dissociation. With its sticky pop hooks, throbbing bassline and vibrant brass flourishes, this feel-good anthem makes a compelling case for the song of the summer.
“It’s about that feeling of finally coming home to yourself and rediscovering, or finding, your confidence - after heartbreak, anxiety, burnout, loss, fear, whatever it is that’s taken you out of your skin,” Shaefri explains. “There’s a quiet power in rediscovering your own rhythm, your own voice, and allowing yourself to feel fully present, and ‘back in your body’ again.”
Racking up over four million streams, Shaefri’s songs have been featured on numerous TV shows, including Love Island and Love Is Blind, as well as brand campaigns with Sephora and Estrid. In 2020, she released the successful EP Girl and also covered Oasis' legendary single 'Wonderwall' for Hot Press' #MorningGlory25 series, which celebrated the 25th anniversary of the band's classic album, (What's The Story) Morning Glory? .
