Free local music gig for Derry
'Sounds From This City Vs Sounds From Cities On The Edge' festival takes place later this month..
The celebrations continue in Derry - this year's City of Culture - with a free gig at Ebrington Square showcasing local and international talent set to take place on June 21.
Among those set to perform under the 'Sounds From This City' banner are Little Bear (pictured), Ryan Vail, Best Boy Grip, Wyldling, The Clameens, Wonder Villains, The Wood Burning Savages and Paddy Nash & The Happy Enchiladas.
The second arena, 'Sounds From Cities On The Edge' will play host to a numer of acts from around the world - Me & My Monkey (Tblisi); Dengue Dengue Dengue (Lima); IA; Batida (Lisbon); Stoned Boys (Moscow); The Wanton Bishops (Beirut); Alexio Kawara (Harare) and Disco’n’Action (Rijeka).
Gareth Stewart of Culture Company 2013 commented: “Ebrington Square is a fantastic and highly-functional live music space and we are delighted to give not only some of the best local talent the chance to perform there in front of an audience of thousands but also invite musicians from across the globe. The festival promises to be one of the highlights of Music City!”
