Frank Fairfield set for The Grand Social
This Friday sees the folkster hitting the capital
Master of the old-time banjo and fiddle, Californian Frank Fairfield is set to peddle his brand of rootsy American folk when he lands at The Grand Social this weekend.
Far from his beginnings as a street performer in LA, he's toured with the likes of Charlie Parr and Fleet Foxes, raising his fair share of eyebrows with soaring hillbilly ballads, arcane rambling songs and murder ballads delivered in a reedy tenor, combining quick fingers with a intense quality.
The latest in the Ubangi Stomp Club's long line of must-catch shows, support will be supplied by local lads the Hat Trick Stringband. Tickets are still available for Friday night's show, priced at €15.
