Foy Vance signs with Ed Sheeran's Gingerbread Man label
The Bangor-born musician has followed Jamie Lawson onto the roster at Sheeran's label, with a first LP on the imprint set to land early next year
Foy Vance has been unveiled as the second artist signed to Ed Sheeran's record label.
The first man to sign the dotted line with the Gingerbread Man Records imprint, Jamie Lawson, shot straight into the upper reaches of the chart with his self-titled record this year; now, the Northern Irish artist will be hoping to follow in those footsteps.
Unsurprisingly chuffed, Foy said: "I feel a deep sense of peace signing to an artist led label, not least of all because the artist in question is our Ed. Every time I've turned around in the last few years he has had my back."
Mr S., for that matter, was similarly pleased with his work.
“Foy’s always been an artist I’ve admired since meeting him in 2006," said the flame-haired hero. "We've become touring buddies over the past few years and he's actually out in Australia with me at the moment on the final leg of my x tour. His vocals are going to blow you away and I can't wait for you all to hear the record."
The pair have worked together in the past, with Ed lending his vocal chops to Foy's 'Guiding Light', while 'Tenerife Sea' and 'Afire Love' were written with the assistance of the Bangor-born musician, who's now based in Scotland.
