Former Girls bassist and producer Chet "JR" White has died, aged 40
The American artist also worked on Tobias Jesso Jr's Goon.
Chet "JR" White, famed for his work as a key member of indie-rock band Girls, has died, aged 40. His former bandmate Christopher Owens confirmed the news on Twitter.
"I hope you feel nothing but peace now my brother," Owens wrote. "I love you, and thank you for believing in me, and for what you brought to the table. Always and Forever, and I’ll always be proud of you... I’ll always remember you protecting Liza, Patrick, myself and Beta from the jerks."
Girls' debut album, Album, was released in 2009 to widespread acclaim – and was followed by Father, Son, Holy Ghost in 2011.
As a bassist and producer, White also worked on Tobias Jesso Jr's Goon, Cass McCombs' Big Wheel and Others, and Spectrals' Sob Story.
