Florence to release MTV Unplugged album
It's due out next month.
UK act Florence + the Machine have recorded a session for MTV Unplugged, which will be released on CD and download on April 6.
The band, fronted by flame-haired Florence Welch, shot to fame following the release of 2009's debut Lungs, which peaked at No. 1 in the UK and No. 2 in Ireland. Its follow-up, Ceremonials was released last year.
The Unplugged session will feature three of Florence's band members, as well as a ten-piece gospel choir from New York. The set includes hits like ‘Dog Days Are Over’, ‘Cosmic Love’, ‘Shake It Out’ and ‘No Light, No Light’. Florence also performs two covers - Johnny Cash’s ‘Jackson’ (where she's joined by Josh Homme), and ‘Try A Little Tenderness’.
Rappers Kanye West and Q-Tip also make an appearance at celeb-packed session. We can't wait to have a listen - 'til then, we'll make do with this massive Florence hit from Lungs:
