Flea to release debut album Honora
The new single, 'Traffic Lights', was co-written with Radiohead's Thom Yorke, with the frontman also lending his vocals to the album.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers bassist Flea is set to release his debut solo album, Honora, on March 27.
Named after a beloved family member, Honora is composed and arranged entirely by Flea. The album features 10 tracks, including the previously released 'A Plea', and takes Flea back to his jazz roots.
To accompany the album announcement, Flea has released his new single 'Traffic Lights', which was co-written with Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Josh Johnson. Yorke is also set to lend his vocals to the album.
“Something about it reminded me of Atoms for Peace, so I sent it to Thom,” said Flea.
"He brought a gorgeous melody and the words that touch on living in the upside down and how we make sense of all the things thrown at us.
"Thom’s the warmest, free-flowing, jamming presence you could ask for.”
Flea will take his solo album on tour this spring, however, no Irish date is included on the list.
The tour starts on May 7 in Chicago and brings Flea and his Honora band across select cities in the United States, Canada, Germany, England, France, and the Netherlands. The brief run ends on May 28 in Paris.
