FKA twigs, Damon Albarn & Jungle among Mercury Music Prize nominees
The shortlist has just been announced for the 2014 Mercury Music Prize, which is being doled out in London on October 29.
The runners and riders are Young Fathers’ Dead, FKA twigs’ LP1, East India Youth’s Total Strife Forever, Bombay Bicycle Club’s So Long, See You Tomorrow, Anna Calvi’s One Breath, Nick Mulvey’s First Mind, GoGo Penguin’s v2.0, Damon Albarn’s Everyday Robots, Polar Bear’s In Each And Every One, Kate Tempest’s Everybody Down, and Royal Blood and Jungle’s self-titled debuts.
Sadly there are no Irish albums on what is otherwise a very impressive roll-call of records.
