Ferris Beuller's Day Off Soundtrack To Be Released
The movie was released in 1986.
An official soundtrack for the cult classic comedy Ferris Beuller's Day Off is set to be released. The movie starring Matthew Broderick, Mia Sara and and Alan Ruck was originally released in June 1986.
Director of the film John Hughes felt that the songs chosen for it were too different to be included on a soundtrack. Hughes died in 2009 but was asked about a soundtrack in a 2003 interview. "A&M Records begged me to put a soundtrack out, but I thought ‘Who’d want all these songs?", Hughes said. "Would kids want ‘Danke Schoen’ and ‘Oh Yeah’ on the same record? To put The Beatles together with more contemporary stuff like The Beat, I just didn’t think anybody would like it".
The soundtrack is expected to be available in September. The official track listing has yet to be finalised but is it not expected to include The Beatle's Twist And Shout. This is due to the band rarely allowing for their music to be used in compilations. However Big Audio Dynamite, Sigue Sigue Sputnik and General Public are expected to feature.
