Farewell To The Old Ghosts
Scandinavian act give Florence a run for her money
Foreign Slippers new effort Farewell To The Old Ghosts proves that when it comes to pure pop music, it’s hard to beat the Scandinavians (well, they’re pretty good at burning churches and writing odes to the be-horned beast from down below too, admittedly…). Operating on the principle that bigger is better, the album is a grandiose offering masterminded by Slippers’ overlord Gabi Froden. Her assured, almost icy singing style is a key factor in bringing songs such as ‘Thank The Moon’ and ‘Island’ to life. Fans of Florence + The Machine and Wolf Gang, prepare to discover your new favourite band.
