The new room will be known as The Barn. It’s a substantial recording space that will accommodate the largest of bands, and will also be available as a rehearsal space, with PA, drums and amps available.

According to Daire Winston of Beechpark Studio, who was involved in the design of The Barn: “It’s an added attraction for Beechpark to have a room for recording large orchestral works but which can also be used as a rehearsal room for bands. I tend to feel that too many bands concentrate on playing for themselves, so I would like to see The Barn stimulating bands to rehearse so as to hone their talents for performing and entertaining audiences. In that sense it’s a sign of our confidence in the future of the Irish music scene.”

The Barn’s other attractions include:

-green room with coffee and tea facilities, microwave etc.

-internet
-video link to the control room and other live rooms in the main studio via large plasma screens
-dimensions: 12m x 7.5 x 5 (40' x 25' x 17')
