Ex-Libertine for low-key Cork show
The former Libertines frontman Carl Barat is to make his Irish debut with Dirty Pretty Things with a date in Cork.
While Pete Doherty attempts to set a new record for the most drug busts in a calendar month, his former Libertines partner Carl Barat is bringing his new combo, Dirty Pretty Things, to Cork on February 24 for a low-key club show in Cyprus Avenue.
Support is provided by the Dublin branch of the Spiritualized fan cub, Mainline, and local heroes Lotus Lullaby.
The band will be previewing their debut album, which was recorded before Christmas in LA and includes ‘Deadwood’ and ‘Bang Bang’ among its standouts.
After auditioning a number of producers, Barat eventually plumped for Jet and Oasis man Dave Sardy.
Also upcoming at our fave Leeside venue on March 9 are JCB duo Nizlopi.
