Eleanor Shanley and Mike Hanrahan announce accompanying art exhibition to EP The Ghost of You

Eleanor Shanley and Mike Hanrahan have announced an art exhibition of Shanley’s work in celebration of their EP The Ghost of You.

The exhibition is set to launch at The Pembroke Hotel in Kilkenny August 6, alongside a live show. It will then run for two weeks.

The Ghost of You was released June 5 and has four tracks, including a cover of The Clancy Brothers’ ‘Four Green Fields’.

Shanley and Hanrahan are currently on tour, with dates at the Clonmel Buskers Festival and Feakle Arts Festival on August 7, as well as a show at Glengoole Hall Thurles on August 22.

Though the pair have shared stages for decades, the EP marks the first time they have released music together as an official duo.

Shanley, originally from Leitrim, rose to fame in the late 1980s as lead vocalist for De Danann. She’s released seven studio albums to date and collaborated with artists the likes of Sharon Shannon, Charlie McGettigan and Patrick Bergin.

Clare-born Hanrahan began his music career in 1978 alongside Maura O’Connell in the folk duo Tumbleweed. He has written for theatre and film, produced three solo albums and performed extensively with Ronnie Drew.
